Beach Wedding??

To all our fabulous brides (and event industry that follow our blog)...we have a great opportunity for you! Are you planning a beach wedding this summer? Want your 15 minutes of fame?? Here's your chance...

Kaos Entertainment is casting for a one hour special to air on a fabulous cable network (it's hush hush for now). The focus is on interesting coastal destinations. The wedding must be taking place this summer and of course stand out from the crowd as extra special!

Are you planning an elegant beach wedding at a gorgeous hotel overlooking the ocean? Perhaps a hipper, trendier Malibu beach wedding? Is your ceremony taking place on the sand? Does your décor reflect a beach theme? Are you incorporating some interesting, unique touches that really take advantage of your setting? Is your event non-traditional, i.e. a clam bake or something more casual? Are you and your event planner willing to talk about what's "in" for beach weddings? Are you and your fiance outgoing on camera? Do you want your wedding day captured on video by the pros in reality tv?

Then email Kaos Entertainment and give them the low down on your event. Contact via email at jpagliano@kaosent.com or mfriedman@kaosent.com.

GOOD LUCK to everyone!!

Once the wedding was done...

As the cleanup began from the gala the night before at the Beverly Hills Hotel we headed out to the beautiful & AB FAB resort and spa at the Parker Palm Springs.

What a treat to get to visit and enjoy all the Parker has to offer! This is definitely our new favorite wedding hot spot (and yet it wasn't too hot..only about 94 degrees)!

With a grand tour we were able to see their two ballrooms (the larger accommodating 220 guests, the smaller about 60), the Gene Autry Residence and Suite (perfect for a small fete with an outdoor feasting table for 20), the multiple ceremony sites on the lush grounds, the cozy outdoor fire pit, the funky and fun lobby and lounge, and of course the fabulous rooms and sunny poolside equipped with an old-fashioned lemonade stand (alcohol included). Our first night we checked into these authentic bohemian style rooms and then went on to dine on some delicious foods (and desserts) at Mister Parker's, their most famous restaurant...and great for an engagement shoot or rehearsal dindin.
The next day we indulged in the luxurious spa called PSYC...their motto is "you are only young once...but you can be immature forever." With vodka-infused berry smoothies in the spa lobby, we lived accordingly...
We had such a fantastic time - we highly recommend you all partake soon! Call Angela Crawford, Catering Manager for more deets...(760) 883-1970...you won't be disappointed!!

Busy Weekend for The Bar

Well after a busy banner weekend at The Bar we are back to blogging.

The Bridal Bar's very own Joyce Choi hosted a very special weekend, her sister's wedding!! Joyce has been hard at work all year, dedicating ALL of her free time to producing an AMAZING event for her family, her sister and fiance Jon, and their friends. The wedding finally took place last Saturday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel where almost three hundred guests gathered to celebrate the union of Grace and Jon. What a wedding it was! See the happy couple under the breathtaking pink and white gazebo outside in the garden. As guests wandered the grounds they were greeted with some spectacular touches. Check out the suede, flower, and paper programs for the ceremony, the custom-tagged parasols to keep guests cool, and the menus, napkin treatments and favors at each place setting, and the placecard-hanging tree and engagement portrait in the foyer. No detail was left undone...
Then guests entered the famous and oh-so grand Crystal Ballroom for dinner, dancing, and even some betting at the blackjack tables. With a custom oval dance floor and surrounding lounge guests partied 'til all hours of the night! The pink and chocolate brown theme was woven through the lighting, the trees and florals, napkin treatments, and even the favors and candy bar. And the finale of the night was the beautiful sugar flower cake designed by Fantasy Frostings.

Here is the Choi family just before Grace said her i do...Joyce, Grace, Anna, and Ellis; dad was there in spirit and pictured on a locket wrapped around the bride's beautiful bouquet. Way to go Joyce and congratulations to Grace and Jon!!

The High Price of Postage...

Well, it's that time again...stamp prices have increased, as of TODAY! So stop production on those invitation envelopes and make sure to get your invites weighed or re-weighed to accommodate the increase (you don't want a bunch of bounced back invitations now)! Check out USPS for more information and rates. 1 oz. envelopes are now $.41 cents and 2 oz. are $.58 cents.

For a more fun approach to your packages, check out Stamps.com to order custom stamps with your engagement photos or monogram - your guests will love it!

Docuvitae in Area Daily

Docuvitae Photography and Super 8 may not be a stranger to the media (they did capture Kevin Costner's nuptials in Aspen, Tatum O'Neil's in Malibu, and Dave Grohl's in Encino), but we are still trilled to see them in the news each and every time! Congratulations to Laura and everyone at Docuvitae for their write-up in the travel outlet Area Daily. Art from life is the headline and that explains their work perfectly (capturing life as art when you don't even realize they are present). Way to go!
