Still Eating Holiday Sweets?

To finish of 2007 we thought we would tease your sweet tooth a bit. Not to ignore the fact that you have probably been enjoying all the holiday chocolates, pies, and gift baskets at the office, but more to go out with a bang (and then get back on the diet on Jan. 1st)

Dig in and enjoy!

The first item on the menu is the beautiful cake above by Fantasy Frostings.

Merry Christmas!

We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! We hope all of your fabulous Christmas Eve weddings were as magical as hoped!

And a special congrats to one of The Bridal Bar's favorite Christmas wedding clients - Katherine Heigl. She and her fiance, Josh Kelley wed in Utah over the weekend and we were lucky enough to have a hand in the planning. Congratulations to you both! To see all the amazing photos, check out next week's issue of OK Magazine. (The above photo courtesy of WireImage.) And a belated congrats to Katherine's MOH, her sister Meg who wed in the Fall. Right Shoe, Wrong Time of Year

But we don't care! We just LOVE these shoes too much to wait 'til spring or summer to share with you! Jane Rafter has a line of interchangeable, comfy, handmade leather sandals that serve as three pairs in one. Packaged in a ready-to-go-gift, the beautiful silk bag will make your maids swoon but what's inside is even better.

According to Jane..."the padded leather soles, which carry an indelible signature design, are simply luxurious. When in place, the uppers (straps and embellishments) of the sandals appear fixed and delicate - but they are both detachable and very strong. The secret is in the three attachment points: through a simple system of locking beads, the uppers can be changed quickly and easily." - three shoe styles in one, for those of you confused :)What a wonderful way to walk down the aisle and have two other pairs of shoes to show off later (all for the price of one.) With the three detachable straps and beaded accessories, each maid can design her own shoe style while the group still has a cohesive look.

Thanks to Bree from the Wedding Tulle Blog for such a fabulous find! Check out her site for regular hot tips and other trends like these.

Tag I'm It

We've been tagged. By the lovely ladies over at The Bridal Wish List. I think this means we are part of the "cool crowd" in blog-speak. So here goes! The rules are...

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven random factoids:

1. I live and die for packaging and collect any and all of it that serves no purpose2. Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, and target is a close second3. I start listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween and my tree never survives the season because I get it so darn early.4. No matter what over the top weddings I work on, I want a small, no frills one for myself5. I talk to my dogs like equals6. I'm about to be an aunt for the first time7. I'm the only female in my generation. In fact, my family has only had one female in every generation long past living memory.
Now it's time to tag...you're it:
Hostess Blog, Blue Orchid Designs, Style Me Pretty, c.and.be.seen, Create My Event, What Junebug Loves, The Wedding Planner's Blog.

Have fun!

Hunter's Holidays

Happy Holidays everyone!

In the spirit of giving we wanted to reach out to our loyal readers. One of our own, Zen Todd Photography & Films, is going through a somber holiday this season. Zen and Lenore's one year old beautiful boy, Hunter, was diagnosed over Thanksgiving with Leukemia. Hunter is usually a smiling, giggling, energetic little Zen and we want to restore him to his joyful self as soon as possible. If you haven't bought your corporate gifts this holiday, consider a gift that could change a life.

The Bridal Bar is accepting donations for Hunter, should you be able to make a contribution. Checks should be made out to:

National Children's Leukemia Foundation C/O Hunter Thawley

Send to The Bridal Bar at:
624 N. Doheny Drive
West Hollywood, CA 90069

We will see to it that Zen, Lenore, and Hunter receive your generous gifts. And for those that can't afford to donate, they need your thoughts and prayers too!

For regular updates on Hunter's condition, check out Zen Todd Blog, where Zen is trying to update us regularly.

For $30 they will adorn your holiday gifts with Swarovski Crystals in up to seven characters.
