Pop Culture Meets Bridal Portraiture

Hailing from NYC is the talented artist, Kristine Baerlin of Figment Portraits. She sent us over these amazing hand-painted pieces of wedding day art. Inspired by a selected wedding photo, Kristine and her clients meet to discuss color options, style, and size and then she goes to work using her signature circular pattern...and voila! Love it! Perhaps you could even do this with a boudoir photo before the wedding and give it to your groom as a gift?!?!

High Drama

A few days ago we went to the Wedding Salon event at the Beverly Hills Hotel and scoped out some new emerging floral trends. Take a look at what hot So Cal pros created. It seems as though the next big thing is big, over-the-top, jewel-toned centerpieces. Tall and full on top, the hanging accents really enhance the pieces.

New Wave in Wedding Photography

Check out this amazing spread on the talented Laura Grier from Beautiful Day Photography.

Hollywood Weekly hails her as leading the change from the trend of grandma's gown to fashion-forward photography, as she fuses her fashion and celeb work over at LXposed Studio with her bridal biz.

Clearly a busy gal, we had no idea how fabulously fashionable and cutting-edge wedding photography could be! Congrats Laura!

Red Carpet for the Groom

Awards shows and red carpets create trends and shift the fashion industry for women everywhere. Bridal gowns mimic award-winning celebrity looks, and why shouldn't they - those gals are gorgeous! But what about the guys? Take a look at a few of the looks from this year's most fashionable men. Will you and your man be inspired by these designer duds? Tie? No tie? Bow tie or skinny tie? Jeremy Piven even wore pinstripes. Ohh how the options are endless...Photos from E! Online.

Say I Do to the iPhone

What will they think of next? The iPhone now counts down your "I DO's." This new application allows you to be a bit more obsessed with your date. Now every time someone asks how long it is until the big day you can have an exact answer! Simply enter in your wedding date and time and let the countdown begin. Wedding Day app counts the years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and even seconds until you say
“iDO!” Helpful in planning since every second counts for busy brides and
grooms!

Wedding Day app continues to work even after you say your vows, by tracking how long you have been married. Down to the second! Since your iPhone or iPod Touch is always with you, the countdown is only a click away. Wedding Day is a real time tool and available on the iPhone App Store.

Couture H2O?

Yes ladies, that's right, Evian now makes bottled water even more beautiful. Check out this limited edition glass bottle designed by the fabulous Christian Lacroix!

What better way to dress up a reception table than with H20 in style? Designed with a coppiced lace pattern, the inspiration came from the flora that can be found at the French Alps, where the water is bottled. Love it!

What a Wedding in LA Weddings

We just had to share this spread, this wedding took place on the Malibu Pier (which is almost unheard of and impossible to get). The lovely and talented Lisa Gorjestani from Details Event Planning designed and orchestrated this themed-to-perfection fete. And the wonderful Jenny Stafford from Red Loft Studios took these amazing pics. This event left no detail undone. From the star fish filled cylinders to the anchor and pinstriped coasters, flip flops for the guests, polka dot flags atop the cookie tower, and bride and groom wardrobe that fit the theme perfectly. Besides the incredible setting - a clear tent under the stars and over the Pacific Ocean, the guests enjoyed a fabulous evening in this nautical wonderland. What a wedding! We hope you enjoy...

Make Your Own Wine?

That's right - you can make your own wine just like you were living on a vineyard in Napa. Well, sort of. For the maid or mom who has everything, give her a toolbox to build her perfect blend. The Fusebox blending kit gives you all the tools you need to turn good wine into great wine.

Each fusebox blending kit includes:

Six 375 mL bottles of blending wine, made from some of Napa's finest vineyards
Cabernet Sauvignon(2 bottles) , Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc
One 375 mL bottle of Mystery Wine
You try to unlock the components
Four pipettes
Graduated cylinder
Four wine evaluation cards
Four tasting placemats
Recipe cards
Vinography aroma card
Corkscrew

Have your maids over for a night of vino blending and tasting and maybe even ask them to be a part of your bridal party during the fun. We love this idea!!
